Six points separate both of these sides in the Premier League table as Aston Villa travel to face Brighton at the Amex Stadium.

Victories have been hard to come by for Steven Gerrard’s side after an initial upturn in form upon his arrival last year, with last weekend’s 1-0 home defeat to relegation battling Watford condemning the Villains to just one win in their last eight games.

Brighton find themselves in a similarly tough run of results after their 3-0 home defeat to Burnley last time out, although Graham Potter will be quick to point to the strength of their recent schedule.

Here’s everything you need to know about the game.

When is kick off? Saturday 26 February, 15:00 (GMT)
Where is the match being played? Amex Stadium
TV channel/live stream? Sky Sports Soccer Saturday, BBC Final Score (UK), Peacock Premium/fuboTV (US)
Highlights? Sky Sports Football YouTube (17:15), BBC Match of the Day (22:30)
Referee? John Brooks
VAR? Michael Oliver

The Seagulls felt the pinch of Lewis Dunk’s absence in their defeat to Burnley, but the defender will return here after serving his suspension. Adam Webster should also join him at the back, having overcome a groin strain.

Midfielder Enock Mwepu remains unavailable, as does young Jeremy Sarmiento.

Suspension has deprived Steven Gerrard of Ezri Konsa’s services in recent weeks, although the defender is finally free to return for the trip south this weekend.

Bertrand Traore (hamstring) has an outside chance of being passed fit, although Marvelous Nakamba remains sidelined with a serious knee injury.

Brighton have lost their mojo in recent weeks after an impressive first half of the season had led them to the brink of the European spots.

Potter’s side still reside inside the top half, and they will fancy their chances against a Villa team who look entirely reliant on the creative genius of Philippe Coutinho.

Gerrard can ill-afford to lose this game given Aston Villa’s recent form so he may look to shut up shop.

Prediction: Brighton 1-1 Aston Villa
