Leicester predicted lineup vs Randers – Europa Conference League
Leicester travel to Randers on Thursday night as they look to progress to the next round of the Europa Conference League.
In the first leg of the pair’s playoff meeting the Foxes romped to a 4-1 victory, and it could have been more if not for the heroics of goalkeeper Patrik Carlgren.
Here is the starting XI Brendan Rodgers seems most likely to go with as his side looks to record another dominant victory…
Kasper Schmeichel (GK) – Danny Ward is barely a footballer at this point. Captain Schmeichel will start once again.
Daniel Amartey (RB) – Has been doing pretty well at centre-back recently but will move out wide in the absence of Timothy Castagne, Ricardo Pereira and James Justin.
Caglar Soyuncu (CB) – His display against Wolves was a rare bright spot in a horrific season – and his side still conceded twice.
Jannik Vestergaard (CB) – Has been similarly suspect at the back since arriving from Southampton. Did well in the first leg mind you.
Luke Thomas (LB) – Rarely puts in less than a 6/10, though 7/10s and 8/10s have been getting rarer over the past few months.
Boubakary Soumare (CM) – Has not played in a while. There is no better opportunity to get some minutes back in his legs.
Youri Tielemans (CM) – Has been in erratic form this season, but his pass in the build-up to Leicester’s goal against Wolves offered a timely reminder of just how good he can be.
Nampalys Mendy (CM) – Call us crazy but surely his excellent AFCON should be rewarded with a start here?
James Maddison (AM) – Dropped for the Wolves game after suffering a health scare in the first leg. Rodgers says he is fit though, so he should play.
Patson Daka (ST) – Has been given a few tough lessons on the physicality of the Premier League in recent weeks. Has an excellent record in Europe this season.
Kelechi Iheanacho (ST) – Supporters have been crying out for a Daka x Iheanacho link up for weeks. Could they finally get their wish here?
