Theo Hernandez is on the verge of leaving Milan with a move to Paris Saint-Germain nearing completion.

The former Real Madrid defender has cemented his place in the Rossoneri starting XI since leaving the Santiago Bernabeu in 2019, though his stellar performances this season weren’t enough to convince Didier Deschamps he was worthy of a place in France’s Euro 2020 squad.

Rumours regarding Hernandez’s future at Milan have circled for some time. Despite his recent claims that he wishes to remain at San Siro, Foot Mercato now report that the youngster is on the verge of a move to PSG.

The Ligue 1 runners up are hoping to strengthen their left-hand side this summer and the arrival of Hernandez would provide vital reinforcements as they look to win back their Ligue 1 title next season.

A long-term deal is understood to have been tabled and is close to being finalised, though the fee is yet to be agreed.

Sources close to the club claim Milan are looking to recoup double the €20m they shelled out to Real Madrid to secure Hernandez’s services little less than two years ago, though there’s no word yet on whether PSG are willing to fork out such a hefty fee.

News of Hernandez’s possible arrival at Parc des Princes suggests the 2020 Champions League finalists are eager to pursue their summer transfer targets despite the uncertainty surrounding manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The former Tottenham boss has been linked with a sensational move back to north London in recent days, while Zinedine Zidane’s departure from Real Madrid has also raised the question of whether Los Blancos see Pochettino as a possible target.

Whether the former Southampton boss does move to either of the aforementioned clubs remains to be seen, though it certainly seems like his future at PSG is up in the air having failed to secure the French title in his first season with the club.
