The Reds‘ new look midfield continues to take shape after the exits of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson. Alexis Mac Allister starred in the rout over Leicester and he could be joined in the middle of the park by fellow newbie Dominik Szoboszlai.

The Hungarian playmaker impressed in his 30-minute cameo against the Foxes.

Liverpool’s star of pre-season, Darwin Nunez, is expected to lead the line once more, with Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz likely joining the Uruguayan forward in attack.

(4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Jones, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai; Salah, Nunez, Diaz.

Thomas Tuchel could make a couple of changes in defence to the side that edged out Kawasaki Frontale last time out. Dayot Upamecano and Matthijs de Ligt may come in for Benjamin Pavard and new arrival Kim Min-jae.

Serge Gnabry’s likely absence could see Mathys Tel continue in the team, with Kingsley Coman potentially featuring down the left.

(4-2-3-1): Sommer; Mazraoui, De Ligt, Upamecano, Davies; Kimmich, Laimer; Sane, Musiala, Sane; Tel.

Liverpool were excellent against the Foxes and will take a ton of confidence into Wednesday’s friendly. However, Bayern will be a considerable step up from their previous opponents.

Tuchel has so far focussed on shuffling his pack and ensuring every member is up to speed. It could get a little more serious on Wednesday, with Bayern playing just one more time before they take on RB Leipzig in the DFL-Supercup.

The Reds‘ summer form would suggest they’re primed for another victory over the German giants, who haven’t quite hit top gear.

Prediction: Bayern Munich 1-3 Liverpool
