Liverpool predicted lineup vs Bayern Munich – Pre-season friendly

Liverpool’s efficient start to the summer transfer window has been followed up by a successful pre-season so far for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

After securing the signings of midfielders Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, the Reds have enjoyed an unbeaten opening to the summer and they were particularly impressive in their most recent outing as they thumped Leicester 4-0.

A tougher test awaits in the form of the perennial Bundesliga champions, however, with Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern taking on the Reds in Singapore.

Here’s the starting XI Klopp could pick for the clash against Die Roten.

GK: Alisson – The consistently excellent Brazilian will continue between the sticks.

RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold An intriguing sub-plot in Liverpool’s season will be the role performed by their superstar right-back. He’ll be expected to shift inside and aid the Reds‘ midfield.

CB: Ibrahima Konate – Injuries have so far proved to be incredibly frustrating for Konate at Liverpool, but he has all the makings of an elite defender. The Frenchman may well be the best centre-back on the club’s books.

CB: Virgil van Dijk – While Van Dijk was the world’s best at his position just a couple of years ago, his difficult 2022/23 campaign means he heads into the new season with something to prove.

LB: Andy Robertson The dogged left-back is still light years ahead of Kostas Tsimikas in the depth chart.

CM: Curtis Jones Jones was one of Liverpool’s best performers down the stretch last season and he was excellent in a deeper role for England’s Under-21s at the Euros this summer. A big campaign beckons for the academy graduate.

CM: Alexis Mac Allister The World Cup winner may go down as the bargain of the summer given Brighton’s typical stubbornness in negotiations. Liverpool secured Mac Allister early and he’s quickly adjusted to Klopp’s demands.

CM: Dominik Szoboszlai – A minor injury setback briefly disrupted his summer but Szoboszlai is fit and firing once more. The playmaker was bright off the bench against Leicester and should feature alongside Mac Allister in an incredibly enterprising Liverpool midfield.

RW: Mohamed Salah The Egyptian winger has enjoyed a productive pre-season thus far with Klopp handing him plenty of minutes. After venting his frustration at Liverpool’s poor 2022/23 season, Salah will be determined to spearhead the Reds back into the big time.

ST: Darwin Nunez – An efficient Darwin could be a bit of a problem. The Uruguayan forward has scored in all three pre-season outings so far and he’ll be looking to extend his streak against the Bavarians in Singapore.

LW: Luis Diaz – Diaz will be looking to make up for lost time after missing the majority of 2022/23 with a knee injury. He’s flashed his exciting talent at times this summer.
