When do Arsenal return for pre-season training?
A stellar pre-season proved to be the start of a majestic 2022/23 campaign for Arsenal that saw the Gunners come of age with Mikel Arteta at the helm.
The club’s success across the Atlantic combined with a shrewd summer transfer window facilitated a vibe of optimism among supporters heading into the new campaign, although very few expected such a serious title challenge to be mounted.
If Arsenal are to return to the heights of 2022/23, they must begin their campaign in a fashion similar to last summer both on and off the pitch. Another trip across the pond has been booked in, but when are Arteta’s players expected to return to the training field?
There is no set date for the start of Arsenal’s pre-season, although the players are expected to report back to London Colney at the start of July before they fly to the States in the middle of the month.
In 2022, the squad began pre-season at the end of June, but seeing as this season didn’t finish until 28 May as a result of the winter World Cup, pre-season is expected to start at a later date this time around.
Arsenal took on Ipswich Town in a behind-closed-doors on 2 July last summer before they faced FC Nurnberg in Germany six days later.
Arsenal are returning to the US following their successful tour in 2022. So far, three games have been confirmed in three cities spanning the East and West coasts.
The Gunners‘ tour kicks off against the MLS All-Stars, coached by Wayne Rooney, on 14 July before they meet Man Utd for the first time on American soil eight days later. Arsenal’s tour is then set to conclude with a friendly against Barcelona at the home of Stan Kroenke’s Los Angeles Rams.
