When is Liverpool’s next game? Pre-season fixtures & 2023/24 start dates
Liverpool’s pre-season preparations for the 2023/24 season could be Jurgen Klopp’s most important since arriving at the club in 2015.
The Reds need to recuperate and iron out a few issues before they embark on another 38-game league season. Their strengths and weaknesses were laid bare for all to see on the final day of the 2022/23 campaign in a 4-4 draw with Southampton.
Liverpool stars like Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk will have some time off before visiting the Far East for pre-season. Klopp and his squad will be keen to put up more of a fight next term, with their late run not being enough to qualify for the Champions League.
Here’s what lies ahead for Liverpool as they look to put an underwhelming season behind them.
Following their final day fixture against Southampton, Liverpool will enjoy a small break before reconvening at the AXA Training Centre on Saturday 8 July for pre-season testing. Those on international duty will return and join the pre-season squad three days later.
Liverpool will then head to Germany for a training camp which will include a friendly against Bundesliga 2 side Karlsruher SC to open their new 34,000-seater Wildparkstadion.
Similar to last season’s pre-season tour, Liverpool will then travel to Singapore to play both Leicester and Bayern Munich two days apart at the Singapore National Stadium.

The 2023/24 Premier League is scheduled to kick off on Saturday 12 August 2023. The complete set of fixtures will be announced on Thursday 15 June at 09:00 (BST).
Liverpool will enter UEFA’s 53rd instalment of the Europa League as one of the heavy favourites given their success at Champions League level.
Having guaranteed Thursday night football through their fifth-placed Premier League finish, Liverpool will directly enter the group stage. Their first game will be on Thursday 21 September and their last will be on 14 December.
They will learn their group stage opponents on 1 September when the draw is made.
Wedged in between domestic and European fixtures are two competitions Liverpool should have their eye on winning.
Though the official dates have not been released yet, Liverpool will enter the Carabao Cup in their third round given they have qualified for European football. Teams in England’s top flight who finished the 2022/23 season outside the top seven enter the competition in the second round.
However, the FA Cup does not follow the same regulations meaning all Premier League teams will enter the competition in the third round.
In the 2022/23 campaign, Liverpool played their first Carabao Cup match of the season against Derby in November and only progressed via a penalty shootout, while their first FA Cup match came later in January.
