Carlisle cannot field Ben Barclay, who scored the winner in extra time against Bradford, as he is on loan from Stockport. Jon Mellish is back from suspension for manager Paul Simpson, however, and Morgan Feeney is close to a return.

Kristian Dennis is fully fit after suffering a cut to his shin when crashing into a mannequin in training.

(3-4-1-2): Holy; Feeney, Huntington, Whelan; Senior, Guy, Moxon, Armer; McCalmont; Garner, Gordon.

County have a largely fit squad to choose from, though top scorer Kyle Wootton has missed their last six games and could be ruled out again.

(3-5-2): Hinchcliffe; Lewis, Horsfall, Hussey; Knoyle, Wright, Camps, Lemonheigh-Evans, Rydel; Olaofe, Madden.

Stockport are the favourites for the League Two play-off final, having lost just two of their last 22 games. Defeat at Salford was overturned in the return fixture and County should be able to maintain their unbeaten record against Carlisle so far this season.

Paul Simpson has done wonderfully well in leading Carlisle to the final with victory over Bradford in the semi-finals but his side approach the game in horrible form, winning only two of their last 11 league games.

The two sides were only separated by three points at the end of the regular season but Stockport are expected to make their return to League One at Carlisle’s expense.

Prediction: Carlisle 1-2 Stockport
