The final day of the season is always a challenge to call, with motivation varying for different squads and rotation likely to impact our squads. But there’s still plenty to play for and there are differentials to consider in every position. So who should you punt on?
Predicted Points: 4.0
Everton have their destiny in their own hands on Sunday as they battle to avoid relegation and are expected to keep things tight in their home game against Bournemouth. Goalkeeper Pickford will be pivotal with seven clean sheets and a penalty save this season.
Pickford ranks third among goalkeepers for xG prevented on 3.3 and third for saves this season on 123. Five of his clean sheets this campaign have come at home and he also has an assist this season.
Predicted Points: 4.9
Liverpool have improved defensively in recent games with three clean sheets in their last four and a trip to goal-shy Southampton on the final day of the season could yield another. The Saints have failed to score in their last three fixtures at St Mary’s.
Robertson scored nine FPL points in the reverse fixture with two assists and has eight goal involvements this season, ranking him fourth among all defenders. He’s been less prolific since Klopp tweaked his positioning but has created four chances in this time.
Predicted Points: 5.5
Anyone holding Brighton or Manchester City midfielders who are unlikely to play significant minutes this week should be encouraged to make the swap to Eze who has the form and home advantage on Sunday as the eighth highest scoring midfielder this campaign.
He has the recent form too with four attacking returns from his last four games and is a permanent feature under Hodgson, playing 90 minutes regularly. He’s had ten shots and created seven chances over the last four gameweeks.
Predicted Points: 5.1
Aston Villa are one of the few sides with something still to play for on the final day of the season as they look to clinch a crucial European spot with a seventh place finish. Their form has been patchy in recent away games but they’ve been impressive at Villa Park, winning six consecutive games.
Watkins has been pivotal to this success with three goals and three assists during this period. His form has dipped in recent games but his underlying numbers remain strong with three big chances on goal.
