Real Valladolid vs Barcelona – La Liga: TV channel, team news, lineups & prediction

La Liga champions Barcelona will look to bounce back from defeat last time out when they visit struggling Real Valladolid on Tuesday night.

An early Jules Kounde error helped Mikel Merino put Real Sociedad ahead at Camp Nou before Alexander Sorloth doubled their lead, Robert Lewandowski’s late effort proving to be just a consolation in a 2-1 defeat.

Valladolid are in shocking form, losing five games on the bounce to heighten their relegation anxiety levels. They sit in 18th, level on points with Getafe and three behind Cadiz.

Here’s the lowdown on the La Liga clash on Tuesday.

The game will come too soon for Ronald Araujo and Pedri, neither of whom were included in Barça’s traveling squad announced on Monday.

There is no space for Kounde, however. The Frenchman came off at half time in the defeat to Real Sociedad though manager Xavi said it was simply muscular fatigue and nothing more serious.

Lewandowski has opened up a five-goal lead in the Pichichi race and will want to improve upon his current haul of 22, having scored twice against Valladolid in August earlier this season.

Barcelona predicted lineup (4-3-3): Ter Stegen; Roberto, Alonso, Christensen, Balde; Gavi, Busquets, De Jong; Raphinha, Lewandowski, Torres.

Barcelona fell behind early on to Sociedad in their previous fixture for a second defeat in six games having already secured the La Liga title. That said, Xavi won’t want another misstep on Tuesday night, especially against a side in such poor form.

Valladolid have lost clashes with relegation rivals Valencia and Cadiz of late and have also been smashed by Atletico Madrid and Sevilla. They’re unlikely to pick up any points when Barça visit and need to pray Getafe and Cadiz drop points elsewhere to stay in touching distance in the relegation scrap.

Prediction: Real Valladolid 0-3 Barcelona
