Leeds fixtures: Next four games after humbling defeat to Bournemouth

Leeds United right in the thick of the relegation battle after a disastrous run of form in April.

Javi Gracia’s side were consigned to their fifth defeat in seven games against Bournemouth, shipping four more goals on top of a tally which has stands at a swollen 23 this month.

With just four games of the league season left to play, here’s how Leeds‘ relegation run-in looks.

Leeds have been dealt a very unfortunate hand as their final run-in of the season includes two teams challenging for Champions League football. Oh, and Manchester City.

Contests with the reigning champions have, as expected, not usually gone well for Leeds as they’ve conceded 20 goals in six matches, including two 4-0 defeats and a 7-0 drubbing.

Eddie Howe’s defensively stubborn Newcastle is then up next for Leeds.

The Yorkshire club will glance back at their December stalemate fondly and take some confidence from that positive result.

But the Magpie’s newfound attacking potency – thanks in large part to Alexander Isak – will strike fear into Garcia’s men.

West Ham are the only team currently residing in the bottom half of the table that Leeds have left to play. Ultimately, this game will be the one Leeds will feel like they have to win if they’re going to stay in the top flight.

A 2-2 draw was the outcome at Elland Road, but neither side will be happy with a share of the spoils this time round due to both teams‘ precarious league positions.

Playing Tottenham in front of the boisterous Elland Road faithful in the last fixture of this season? This could be a huge game.

Ryan Mason may have injected some fight into the Londoners, but Leeds may be confident that they can get something from this game due to Tottenham’s defensive frailties.
