Girona vs Real Madrid – La Liga: TV channel, team news, lineups & prediction

Business

Real Madrid will look to close the gap on Barcelona at the top of La Liga in the coming days when they make the trip across to Catalonia to face mid-table Girona.

Los Blancos felt hard done by in the reverse fixture at the Bernabeu earlier in the season, blaming a controversial penalty handed to Girona and a disallowed Rodrygo goal for the 1-1 draw.

Girona lost 1-0 to Real Valladolid at the weekend, but have had wins this month against both Espanyol and Elche, as well as a 0-0 draw with Catalan neighbours Barcelona.

Ferland Mendy is the only injury absentee, although David Alaba remains a doubt. Carlo Ancelotti could also change things up a little after continuing to rest Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Dani Carvajal in the win over Celta Vigo.

(4-3-3): Courtois; Carvajal, Militao, Alaba, Camavinga; Kroos, Modric, Valverde; Rodrygo, Benzema, Vinicius.

Real Madrid have won four games in a row in all competitions since losing at home to Villarreal earlier this month. Each time, they have scored twice without conceding.

Girona have caused Real problems in the past, both earlier this season and in their previous meeting before that back in the 2018/19 season. But Real have hit a good run of form, so expect them to win to keep up the pressure on Barcelona.

Prediction: Girona 0-2 Real Madrid
