Premier League fixtures today – your guide to Saturday’s games
We are back to a full set of fixtures across the Premier League this weekend and that means Saturday will have plenty of games to enjoy.
With Manchester City hosting Liverpool in the early kick-off and Arsenal in action at home against Leeds, there could be another twist in the Premier League title race.
Chelsea are playing in the evening in a tough match against Aston Villa, while a number of relegation candidates will be aiming to crawl further away from the bottom three.
It’s going to be an incredibly busy day of Premier League entertainment, so here’s the schedule and everything you need to know.
This is certainly the biggest game of the weekend, even if the two sides are not fighting for the same prize this season. Clashes between Manchester City and Liverpool have been the pinnacle of Premier League quality in recent years and given Liverpool have picked up some form, this could still be an evenly-matched blockbuster.
There is a chance City will be without Erling Haaland after he had to pull out of Norway’s Euro 2024 qualifiers last week. They will also be missing Phil Foden after his appendix removal surgery.
The match will come a little too soon for Luis Diaz and Thiago, both of whom have returned to training, but Darwin Nunez will be available.

If we were at the start of the season, this is a clash that would likely have been viewed as a huge game in the relegation battle. That is the case, but only for one of the teams.
Fulham’s superb season means they are in the hunt for a European place and relegation is not even a concern. They are the outside bet but seventh place is possible and would also almost certainly mean finishing above Chelsea.
As for Bournemouth, they are right in the thick of the relegation battle and every single game is absolutely crucial. A win here against Fulham could really kick-start their survival fight.

Both of these teams are in the same situation of needing points while not being the prime candidates for relegation from the Premier League this season.
Wolves are 13th but only three points above the relegation zone, while Forest are one point further back and could very easily get dragged further down. A win for either team here could condemn the other to a genuine scrap for survival as the situation is so tight in the bottom half.

Two sides that likely won’t have expected to be in a relegation battle this season face off in south London with the hopes of distancing themselves from the fight.
Palace are currently 12th and Leicester 17th, but there are just two points between them, showing how many teams are in serious danger this season. Leicester have the best squad of all the teams in the fight and a win here would lift them away from the drop zone, but more in terms of league position than points gap.
Roy Hodgson is back in charge at Selhurst Park following Patrick Vieira’s dismissal, so he will be desperate to get back underway with a win.

Every game involving Arsenal is huge now as any dropped points could be viewed as their title charge starting to unravel, opening the door for Manchester City. With their challengers up against Liverpool, this could be an even more important time to get three points on the board for the Gunners.
They are without some important players though as William Saliba is out along with Eddie Nketiah, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mohamed Elneny. Checks will also be made on Thomas Partey and Kieran Tierney.
Leeds would love to cause an upset here as they are one of the teams in the thick of the relegation fight.

This has the potential to be one of the most interesting games of the weekend and it’s a shame it won’t be on television in the UK. Brighton and Brentford are battling to grab a Europa Conference League or even Europa League slot if things go really well.
They are level on points but Brighton have actually got two games in hand over their opponents as well as better goal difference, so the onus is really on Brentford to try to get all three points.

Saturday’s final game is an intriguing one, as every game involving Chelsea seems to be. They are the hardest team to work out this season and while there have been signs of a bit of form under Graham Potter with all the new stars, it is also easy to envisage an Aston Villa win here.
There could be a return for Mason Mount along with Raheem Sterling and Reece James. Thiago Silva is out but Wesley Fofana may be fit enough to take his place.
