It’s derby day in Scotland this weekend as the first Old Firm of the 2022/23 Scottish Women’s Premier League season takes place at Broadwood Stadium.

A good sized crowd is expected to be in attendance for a tightly contested fixture, with just a point separating top of the table Rangers and third place Celtic.

Who will claim local bragging rights on Saturday?

Here’s everything you need to know about the fixture…

When is kick off? Saturday 26 November 17:15 (GMT)
Where is the match being played? Broadwood Stadium
TV channel/live stream? BBC ALBA, BBC Sport Website, BBC iPlayer (UK)
What time does coverage start? 17:00 (GMT)

Rangers manager Malky Thompson confirmed that his side has a ‚clean bill of health‘ heading into Saturday’s fixture, after a handful of players missed last weekend’s draw with Glasgow City through illness.

Kathryn Hill is edging back to full fitness, while Megan Bell is also closing in on a return to action, having missed Euro 2022 with a torn hamstring. Jane Ross remains a long-term injury absentee.

Celtic will be boosted by the return of the in-form Jacynta Galabadaarachchi following her suspension. Clarissa Larisey is also back in contention to start, having been rested last time out against Hearts after returning from international duty with Canada.

Rangers are the favourites for the SWPL title this term, having not lost a league match since the 2020/21 season. However, Celtic were the only Scottish team to beat Rangers last season, knocking their Old Firm rivals out of the Scottish Cup fourth round with a 2-1 victory.

Rangers were held by Glasgow City last time out, and with just a single point separating the two sides, Saturday promises to be a tight encounter. Rangers should just edge it – but it will be a hard fought, narrow victory.

Prediction: Rangers 2-1 Celtic
