Manchester City vs Sunderland Continental Cup: TV channel, live stream, team news & prediction
Manchester City continue the defence of their Continental Cup title on Sunday when they welcome Championship outfit Sunderland to the Academy Stadium.
City beat Chelsea in a dramatic final last season, and got this season’s campaign off to a strong start with a comprehensive victory over Blackburn.
They face a Sunderland side who were narrowly beaten by Liverpool in their group stage opener, but have struggled for form in the league thus far.
When is kick off? Sunday 27 November, 14:00 (GMT)
Where is the match being played? Academy Stadium
TV channel/live stream? City+
Referee? Stacey Fullicks
Lauren Hemp missed England’s November camp and Manchester City’s victory over Everton last time out with a minor thigh injury.
Alana Kennedy and Vicky Losada have also been absent for City of late with their respective shoulder and knee injuries.
Gareth Taylor named a heavily rotated side for City’s last Continental Cup group fixture against Blackburn, and could do the same on Sunday.
Sunderland gave Liverpool a good game in their opening Continental Cup group match, only losing by a single goal. However, they have won just one of their nine league outings this term, and taking points off Man City will be a big ask.
City have won six on the bounce, conceding just once in that time. Even if they rotate their squad, they will be expected to make light work of Sunderland.
