Aston Villa enquire about Tottenham winger Lucas Moura
Aston Villa are one of several Premier League clubs to have enquired about Tottenham winger Lucas Moura as the summer transfer deadline looms, 90min understands.
Lucas has only has played 12 minutes of Premier League football this season, with Antonio Conte preferring Dejan Kulusevski in a three-pronged attack alongside Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.
The Brazilian, who also admitted in summer he would be open to playing as a wing-back under Conte but is behind Emerson Royal and Matt Docherty in the pecking order in that role, hasn’t even been named on the bench for Spurs’ last two games against Nottingham Forest and West Ham.
Lucas recently turned 30 and has two more years left on the contract he signed in August 2019. That deal was agreed within a few months of the crucial role he had in firing Spurs to the Champions League final, having scored a semi-final second leg hat-trick against Ajax.
Scott Saunders, Graeme Bailey & Toby Cudworth bring you Talking Transfers, discussing Lucas Paqueta’s move to West Ham, Chelsea’s plans to sign Anthony Gordon, Wesley Fofana and Arsen Zakharyan and the latest from Old Trafford. Available on all audio platforms and the 90min YouTube channel.

The former PSG player, who was a major target for Sir Alex Ferguson in his final months as Manchester United manager, ended up being a bit-part rotation player under Jose Mourinho and never really established himself as a starter under Conte last season either.
Lucas started only half of Spurs’ 38 Premier League games in 2021/22, with the two goals he scored his lowest tally in a league campaign at any point in his career other than when changing clubs.
