Women’s Euro 2022: Every Arsenal player called up for the tournament
Arsenal have a great chance of welcoming a Euro 2022 champion back to the club for pre-season training next month, with the Gunners represented at the tournament by players from England, Sweden, Netherlands and Norway among others.
Overall, 12 Arsenal players will be in action and it stands to be a big summer for the likes of Leah Williamson, Beth Mead and Vivianne Miedema in particular.
This is how you can follow every Arsenal player at Euro 2022…
8 July – 20:00 (BST) – Germany vs Denmark – BBC Two
12 July – 17:00 (BST) – Denmark vs Finland – BBC Two
16 July – 20:00 (BST) – Denmark vs Spain – BBC iPlayer
Danish centre-back Simone Boye joined Arsenal last summer but didn’t play a lot of football during the 2021/22 club season. Yet she remains one of Denmark’s senior players in a talented squad.

A Sweden side expected by many to go all the way at Euro 2022 will be looking to Stina Blackstenius as its primary source of goals. She scored five times en-route to an Olympic silver medal last summer.

15 July – 20:00 (BST) – Austria vs Norway – BBC Three
Frida Maanum is only 22 but will reach a half century of senior international caps this summer. She is also capable of scoring spectacular goals, as Arsenal fans discovered first hand during the 2021/22 club season.

Noelle Maritz is a reliable performer at right-back for club and country, offering vital experience for a Switzerland side that will need to pull off a major upset to avoid an early group stage exit.

Beth Mead has scored 14 international goals in just 13 appearances for England since the start of 2021. That has included three hat-tricks in World Cup qualifiers against Northern Ireland, North Macedonia and Latvia.

Vivianne Miedema finished the club season by committing her immediate club future to Arsenal amid strong Barcelona links. She had a slow start at Euro 2017 but then scored four times in three knockout games.

Nikita Parris scored just one WSL goal in 2022/22 and started only five times in the league for Arsenal in her first season back in England. She still made the Lionesses squad here but won’t feature more than as a sub.

Switzerland captain Lia Walti is on course to reach 100 international caps during Euro 2022. The midfielder has been a mainstay of her country’s tournament history, with previous appearances in 2015 and 2017.

Arsenal fans still haven’t seen that much of Austrian full-back Laura Wienroither following her January arrival from Hoffenheim. She will face several of her club-mates when Austria play England.

Leah Williamson has taken over from long-serving England captain Steph Houghton and Euro 2022 marks the start of a new era. Unlike for Arsenal, she is set to be deployed further forward in midfield this summer.

Lotte Wubben-Moy is one of the least experienced players in the England squad, although she was part of the Great Britain setup at the Olympics. Her role will largely be providing depth and cover this time around.

Manuela Zinsberger will keep goal for Austria when her country faces England in the Euro 2022 opener at Old Trafford. She previously frustrated England in a narrow 1-0 World Cup qualifying defeat in November.
