Juventus are leading Tottenham Hotspur in the the race to sign AS Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo, 90min understands.

The Italian international, who can play on the right flank or as a number ten, scored six goals in Roma’s successful UEFA Europa Conference League campaign last season – in what was his first year back from the second ACL injury of his young career. Having proved his fitness during the 2021/22 campaign, Zaniolo is once again being linked with some of Europe’s top clubs.

90min reported last week that Tottenham had held talks with AS Roma over the availability of Zaniolo, and while the player is tempted by a move to London, we understand that he is interested in staying in Serie A this summer.

That insistence to stay on the peninsula has made Juve the frontrunners in the race to sign the 22-year-old.

While no deal is agreed between the clubs, La Vecchia Signora are hoping to include Arthur Melo and Moise Kean in their offer. As 90min reported a few weeks ago, Juventus are keen to offload some midfield deadwood during the summer with Adrien Rabiot and Arthur at the top of that list.

Like Arthur, Kean has endured a rather disappointing spell at Juventus following his return to the club from Everton. The Italian scored just six goals in all competitions over the last 12 months.

Along with chasing Zaniolo, we understand that Juve are also close to sealing a deal to sign wing-back Filip Kostic from Europa League champions Eintracht Frankfurt.

On top of that, the club believe a deal to bring Angel Di Maria to Turin is also finalised – a deal we understand will not be hindered by any move for Zaniolo – despite the forward waiting on an offer from La Liga giants Barcelona.
