Rangers predicted lineup vs RB Leipzig – Europa League

The next obstacle on Rangers‘ quest for European glory comes in the form of a trip to Germany to face RB Leipzig on Thursday.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst rested a number of his top players at the weekend as Rangers saw off Motherwell, and those fresh legs will have to compensate for a nasty injury list that threatens to cause the Gers all sorts of problems in attack.

Here’s how the boss could set up.

Allan McGregor (GK) – McGregor missed Rangers‘ UEFA Cup semi-final in 2008 through injury and is desperate to set the record straight at 40 years old.

James Tavernier (RB) – Tavernier shone in the Braga comeback and will need a similarly huge performance here.

Connor Goldson (CB) – Van Bronckhorst rested some of his biggest names last time out but couldn’t leave out Goldson, such is his importance to the team.

Calvin Bassey (CB) – Another outstanding performer from the Braga win, Bassey’s legs are fresh after a weekend rest.

Borna Barisic (LB) – Barisic’s crossing can be so dangerous, and with limited options in attack, Rangers will need his help.

John Lundstram (CM) – No minutes at the weekend for Lundstram, protecting his legs for this one.

Ryan Jack (CM) – Ditto. Jack is raring to go.

Glen Kamara (CM) – Kamara played over an hour against Motherwell but was withdrawn with the job done, so he should have enough about him to start again. Needs to impress with Aaron Ramsey out.

Joe Aribo (RW) – Scott Wright scored at the weekend but Aribo is one of the stars of this team and will reclaim his place out wide.

Fashion Sakala (ST) – No Alfredo Morelos and no Kemar Roofe means Sakala will get another shot up top.

Ryan Kent (LW) – With limited firepower available, Kent needs to be at the top of his game to aid Rangers‘ case.
