Manchester City host Real Madrid on Tuesday night as this season’s Champions League semi-finals get underway.

City squeezed past a cynical Atletico Madrid to reach this stage of the competition and they were rewarded with a tie against another team from the Spanish capital.

Aside from some issues in the backline, Pep Guardiola has pretty much a full squad to choose from. Here is how the Cityzens could line up.

Ederson (GK) – Admittedly it is a small sample size, but Ederson has only registered a save percentage of 55.6% in the competition this season.

Kyle Walker (RB) – Has been absent through injury, but City will do everything they can to get him back for this one.

Ruben Dias (CB) – Injuries have restricted him to just five Champions League starts this term but should make it six on Tuesday.

Aymeric Laporte (CB) – Laporte has completed 95% of his passes in the competition, which is quite something really.

Oleksandr Zinchenko (LB) – Always dependable and with Joao Cancelo suspended, he will be called upon again.

Bernardo Silva (CM) – Remarkable that he was looking likely to leave Man City last summer. Has been unplayable at times recently.

Rodri (CM) – Rodri has finally been given his props as one of the best holding midfielders in the world this season.

Kevin De Bruyne (CM) – Has only scored once in this year’s Champions League. Real will be hoping that stays the same in midweek.

Riyad Mahrez (RW) – City’s top scorer in the competition this campaign with six goals in 10 games.

Gabriel Jesus (ST) – Guardiola has made some brutal selection decisions in the past but surely scoring four goals at the weekend is enough for Jesus to keep his spot in the first team.

Raheem Sterling (LW) – Has only been handed five Champions League starts this season but is in line to play from the beginning here.
