Sassuolo vs Juventus: TV channel, live stream, team news & prediction
Coppa Italia finalists Juventus turn their attention back to Serie A action on Monday night when they travel to face Sassuolo.
Massimiliano Allegri’s men were under cosh against Fiorentina in the cup semi-final but managed to grind out victories in both legs to give them a chance at ending this season with some silverware.
However, the focus is currently on sealing a spot in Serie A’s top four and qualifying for the Champions League again. Juve sit fourth and remain in control of their own destiny, but there are a handful of sides just waiting for them to slip up.
Sassuolo are a little behind that chasing pack but still more than capable of causing Juve problems. They own recent wins over Fiorentina, Inter and Atalanta, and they won’t be scared of Allegri’s side.
Here’s all you need to know about this one.
When is kick off? Monday 25 April, 19:45 (BST)
Where is the match being played? Mapei Stadium – Città del Tricolore
TV channel/live stream? BT Sport 1 (UK), Paramount+ (US)
Highlights? BT Sport YouTube
Referee? Fabio Maresca
VAR? Gianluca Aureliano
Filippo Romagna and Pedro Obiang are both absent for Alessio Dionisi, but the biggest problem is the potential absence of star forward – and reported Juventus target – Domenico Berardi.
The top scorer picked up an ankle injury in training which kept him out of the recent defeat to Cagliari and it is not yet clear whether he’ll be back. The same goes for midfielder Abdou Harroui, who has been training by himself on his road to recovery from injury.
There’s nothing new for Allegri to worry about, but that doesn’t mean he’ll have an easy job picking a team. His midfield is decimated, with Manuel Locatelli and Weston McKennie both out for sure and Arthur still struggling with an ankle problem that will see him take a place on the bench at best.
Star man Federico Chiesa is out as well, as is young Kaio Jorge.
As hit-and-miss as Juventus are, they are still a stronger team than Sassuolo, whose wind has been knocked out of their sails with a run of two defeats in three games, with the absence of Berardi proving to be a real issue.
With Berardi unlikely to play a significant role, if any, Sassuolo may struggle to create too much against a Juventus side famed for their unnecessarily strong love of defending.
Juventus will always make it scrappy, but they should get the win here.
Prediction: Sassuolo 0-2 Juventus
