Brighton vs Southampton: TV channel, live stream, team news & prediction
Brighton and Southampton clash in a south-coast derby (of sorts) as the two meet on Sunday afternoon.
The Seagulls will hope to get back into the good form they showed with impressive victories at Arsenal and Tottenham before seeing their winning run halted by Manchester City, who sent them back home with a 3-0 defeat.
Ralph Hasenhuttl will also hope to see his men get back to winning ways this weekend, having followed up their own 1-0 win over the Gunners with a lacklustre 2-0 loss at Burnley on Thursday night, leaving the Saints one point behind Brighton in the Premier League table.
Here’s 90min’s preview of this clash.
When is kick off? Sunday 24 April, 14:0 (GMT)
Where is it being played? Amex Stadium, Falmer
What TV channel is it on? Not televised in the UK, Peacock (US)
Highlights? Sky Sports Football YouTube channel, BBC Match of the Day 2 (UK)
Who’s the referee? Robert Jones
Who’s the VAR? Michael Salisbury
The headline absentee for Graham Potter’s side is Yves Bissouma, who serves the second of a two-match suspension this weekend.
Elsewhere, Leandro Trossard and Steven Alzate are doubts and will require late fitness tests to determine their availability. Jakub Moder and Shane Duffy are also missing for the hosts.
The visitors come into this one in great shape, boasting an almost completely clean bill of health.
Hasenhuttl will have to make do without Alex McCarthy once more, although looks to have a full squad to pick from for this one.
Coming up against a side that has demonstrated its capabilities against top opposition over the last few rounds of fixtures and having lost 6-0 to Chelsea and 2-0 to Burnley in their previous two away trips, Southampton can be expected to struggle here – despite having more first-teamers to boast then their hosts.
Brighton, though, will have to do well to pick themselves up from a 3-0 defeat last time out and beat a side that can admittedly trouble any opponent.
It should be a tight affair, with the most minimal of margins to decide the outcome.
Prediction: Brighton 1-0 Southampton
