Brighton predicted lineup vs Southampton – Premier League

Brighton host Southampton on Sunday afternoon, hoping to return to winning ways.

The Seagulls had been on a mini-victorious streak before their last outing, securing impressive 2-1 and 1-0 victories away at Arsenal and Tottenham respectively before being stopped in their tracks by a 3-0 defeat at Manchester City last time out.

Sitting tenth in the Premier League table, the Seagulls now return to the Amex to host a Southampton side that has won just once in their previous seven league fixtures. Here’s how Potter could set his side up.

Robert Sanchez (GK) – Only a one-match suspension has kept the undoubted Brighton number one from featuring in the league this term.

Adam Webster (CB) – A 29-minute cameo at the Etihad was his biggest taste of action since returning from a groin injury, but the Portsmouth youth product could be set for a return to the starting lineup against Southampton this weekend.

Lewis Dunk (CB) – Surely set to continue to skipper the side at the heart of defence after a stoic effort against City last time out.

Marc Cucurella (CB) – Has fitted in seamlessly since his summer transfer, having started each of his side’s 30 Premier League outings since arriving.

Tariq Lamptey (RWB) – The pace merchant, so easily capable of causing panic among opposition defences, should be given an eighth start in ten this weekend.

Pascal Gross (CM) – Has been in decent fettle of late and, despite struggling last time out, should have earned another start here.

Moises Caicedo (CM) – The future of Ecuador has started each of his side’s previous three Premier League fixtures, and hasn’t looked at all bad.

Alexis Mac Allister (CM) – Doesn’t show his evident quality often enough, but will likely be given a seventh consecutive league berth here.

Solly March (LWB) – With Leandro Trossard doubtful to return just yet, March could be set for a second start in succession here.

Enock Mwepu (ST) – Has been in a good vein of form over recent weeks, coming into this one with five goal involvements in his previous eight appearances to his name.

Neal Maupay (ST) – After an anonymous showing against City last time out, Danny Welbeck could be replaced by Maupay in the starting XI for this weekend’s clash.
