Lotte Wubben-Moy signs new Arsenal contract
England international Lotte Wubben-Moy has signed a new contract at Arsenal and described the club as ‚her life‘.
As part of her new contract – the length of which has not been disclosed – Wubben-Moy will also work closely with Arsenal in the Community in order to ‚give back to the local area where she grew up and still lives‘.
The defender progressed through the Arsenal Centre of Excellence and made her debut for the first team as a 16-year-old, before departing for North Carolina Tar Heels to play college football in the United States.
She returned to England in 2020 to re-sign for the Gunners, and has established herself as a key member of the first team, in addition to forcing her way into the senior England set up.
“It feels amazing,” the Wubben-Moy told Arsenal’s official club website. “This contract means so much more to me and to my family than just it being a football contract.
„It’s a commitment to the club and it’s a commitment to Arsenal, the community that it’s active in and to my life as a whole, because that’s what Arsenal is – it’s my life.”
Wubben-Moy has made 61 appearances across her two spells with Arsenal, scoring five goals.
“Lotte has proven herself as an important player for us this season and so I’m delighted that she has extended her stay with the club,“ added manager Jonas Eidevall.
„She is one of the most exciting young defenders in English football and I believe she has all the tools to continue her progression here at Arsenal.”
