Spurs move final game of WSL season to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Tottenham Women will play their final game of the 2021/22 WSL season at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday 8 May, with Leicester the visitors to north London to wrap up the campaign.
Spurs have previously played at the state-of-the-art venue on three separate occasions to date, hosting Arsenal in successive seasons in 2019/20 and 2020/21, as well as the opening game of the current campaign against Birmingham back in September.
Moving the Leicester game to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will see the team book-end the season there. This will also be the first playing at the stadium twice in the same season.
The announcement comes just a day after Manchester United welcomed more than 20,000 fans at Old Trafford, setting a new WSL attendance high for 2021/22. Spurs attracted nearly 40,000 fans against Arsenal in November 2019, although only 4,600 were at the Birmingham game this season, with women’s football attendances taking time to recover from suffering post-coronavirus restrictions.
The hope is that Spurs can end on a high, having already enjoyed their best ever WSL season so far after already comfortably beating their 2020/21 points tally with six games still to play.
Rehanne Skinner’s side have just started to fall away in the hunt for a top three finish and Champions League football but are on course to place in the top half of the WSL for the first time.
Tickets are already on sale from the club and cost just £6.50 for adults and £3.50 for children and seniors, making it an exceptional bargain for whole families to watch top flight football together.
