Barcelona are ready to offload a number of first-team players this summer and negotiate salary reductions with some of those that stay in order to bolster their finances.

Despite being in well-documented financial issues, Barcelona remain adamant that they can compete in the battle to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, while Mohamed Salah has regularly been tipped as a potential Plan B if his contract talks with Liverpool continue to drag on.

Both deals would be hugely expensive, so in anticipation for a costly summer, Marca note that more salary reductions will have to be on the cards.

Talks are already being planned with Gerard Pique, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, all of whom will be urged to reduce or defer their salaries next season.

Barcelona plan to use a similar strategy to that of Samuel Umtiti, who was handed a new four-year contract in January which spread out the money he was set to earn on his previous deal, which had just 18 months to run at the time.

Umtiti, however, could still be shown the exit door this summer as AS note he is one of a handful of players who have been told they are free to leave at the end of the season.

Alongside the Frenchman, Barcelona are looking to part ways with Neto, Sergi Roberto, Clement Lenglet, Oscar Mingueza, Riqui Puig, Martin Braithwaite and Luuk de Jong.

Final decisions also need to be made on Dani Alves, whose contract expires in the summer but is expected to sign a short-term extension, and Wolves loanee Adama Traore, who is only expected to join permanently if Francisco Trincao moves in the opposite direction.

Memphis Depay also wants guarantees on his minutes, with a number of sides across Europe circling if he does not get them. The Dutchman has recently been linked with Tottenham.
