Chelsea considering summer move for Wolves‘ Max Kilman
Chelsea are said to be considering a move for Max Kilman in the summer as they look to address a potential defensive crisis.
The Blues have three senior defenders out of contract in the summer: Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta – none of whom seem any closer to extending their stay at the club.
As 90min reported in January, the club are increasingly fearful of losing the trio in the summer on free transfers and have already started eyeing up possible replacements.
Sevilla’s Jules Kounde – who so nearly moved to Chelsea last summer – remains an option, but another shortlisted player, Niklas Sule, has recently reached an agreement to join Borussia Dortmund.
According to talkSPORT, a further name under consideration is Wolves‘ Kilman. The 24-year-old has been in incredible form this season, helping his side record the second best defensive record in the Premier League.
The former Maidenhead United player has impressed on the ball too, regularly catching the eye with brave strides out from the back. He is also used to playing in a back three, suiting him well to Thomas Tuchel’s favoured playing style.
Chelsea are not the only Premier League side interested in Kilman, though. As 90min reported last month, Manchester United have similarly identified him as a player of real interest.
