Liverpool host Leeds on Wednesday in a rearranged Premier League fixture originally scheduled for Boxing Day last year.

The Reds remain in the hunt for the title after closing the gap to current leaders Manchester City to six points at the weekend with their victory over Norwich, with City’s loss to Tottenham blowing the race open again.

Leeds put in a classic Leeds performance against Manchester United on Sunday, going 2-0 down, pulling level minutes into the second half before then conceding two to lose 4-2.

Klopp made seven changes to his starting XI against Norwich, a move that looked to have backfired when the Canaries took a shock lead.

Full backs Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson were both rested but should come back into the side, while midfielders Fabinho and Thiago were also given breaks, though the latter did come on as a substitute on Saturday.

With a Carabao Cup final on the horizon, Divock Origi could be handed a start up front alongside Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane if Klopp elects to shuffle his pack. Forwards Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino will both be absent.

Robin Koch is unlikely to feature, having suffered a head injury during the defeat to Manchester United on Sunday.

Raphinha started that fixture on the bench but came on to score and should be rewarded with a starting spot, but key figures Kalvin Phillips, Liam Cooper Patrick Bamford remain out with their injuries.

Even if they have one eye on the Carabao Cup final against Sunday, this should be a fairly routine win for Liverpool. Leeds stick to their principles but that will go against them versus a Reds side in good form in front of goal.

A win will take Klopp’s side within three points of Man City, and they should manage that on Wednesday night.

Prediction: Liverpool 3-0 Leeds
