Liverpool have agreed a fee of around £10m with Fulham for Fabio Carvalho, with the teenager set to move back to Craven Cottage on loan for the remainder of the season.

90min understands that the two clubs have been in negotiations for much of the day, and a deal has now been agreed with little over an hour remaining of the January transfer window.

Carvalho has already agreed personal terms with Liverpool and he is now expected to undergo a medical before the transfer is finalised.

The Portugal-born winger has made 18 appearances for Fulham in the Championship this season, scoring seven times and setting up further four, and is an England youth international capped at Under-16, Under-17 and Under-18 level.

He had also been attracting interest from West Ham, but Liverpool have moved to get a deal done before the end of the winter window – adding Carvalho to their ranks after snapping up Luis Diaz from Porto for a fee that could reach €60m.

25-year-old Diaz has been in exceptional form during 2021/22, scoring 14 goals in 18 Premeira Liga games, and he finished last summer’s Copa America as top scorer. He’ll provide further cover to a forward line that already boasts the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino.

As for Carvalho, he’ll return to a Fulham side hoping to win promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

The Cottagers have been scoring goals for fun under Marco Silva, bagging 74 in just 28 games, and are currently five points clear at the top of the table.
