Leeds and Crystal Palace go head to head in the Premier League this week as part of a full programme of midweek top flight fixtures.

Both sides occupy places in the bottom half of the table ahead of this one, but Leeds are looking nervously over their shoulder at the relegation zone, while Palace have an eye on the top 10. That being said, only four points separate them and one result could massively change things.

Leeds are over the worst of a recent injury crisis. Robin Koch is the only player definitely still missing, although a lack of fitness could rule both Patrick Bamford and Luke Ayling out of at least one more game.

Junior Firpo could be a casualty of the Brighton match after being subbed at half-time. Kalvin Phillips was also withdrawn from that game after only 45 minutes but is confirmed as available.

Palace will continue to assess Joachim Andersen after he missed the weekend’s clash through injury and was replaced in the starting XI by James Tomkins.

Eberechi Eze made his long-awaited return from injury last time out and will be hoping for more minutes, while both Jordan Ayew and Odsonne Edouard will be pushing for starts.

Last season marked the first time that Leeds and Crystal Palace had met since the latter were promoted to the Premier League back in 2013.

The clubs shared home wins in those two meetings, with Palace triumphing 4-1 at Selhurst Park in November and Leeds taking a 2-0 victory at Elland Road in February.

When both clubs were in the Championship, Palace’s record against Leeds was poor, beating them only once in a run of seven games between 2007 and 2013.

Leeds haven’t scored enough goals to pick up points this season, only finding the net more than once in two games from the 13 they have played.

Five of those have ended as 1-1 or 0-0 draws, meaning that even just three additional goals could have yielded six extra points and be the difference between 17th and a place in the top half of the table.

Scoring is going to be crucial against a Palace that have become difficult to beat and lost for the first time since September in their last Premier League game.

The Eagles played into the hands of Aston Villa tactically in that one and that could be something that Leeds try to exploit again. Whether they have the personnel to do that without a fully fit strongest XI remains to be seen, however.
