Inter predicted lineup vs Venezia – Serie A
Inter travel to face newly promoted Venezia in Serie A this weekend buoyed by their recent unbeaten run.
Victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in midweek sealed their progression to the knockout stages of the Champions League, making it eight games without defeat since their 3-1 reverse to Lazio back in mid-October.
Last weekend’s thrilling 3-2 win over fellow title-chasers Napoli closed the gap at the top of Serie A to four points, and Inzaghi will be hoping his side continue their momentum ahead of a busy December fixture list.
Here’s how the Nerazzurri could line up.
Samir Handanovic (GK) – Made a fine reaction save to deny Napoli a late equaliser last weekend.
Milan Skriniar (CB) – Rugged and no-nonsense, the Slovakia international is the heart of this Inter side.
Stefan de Vrij (CB) – Inzaghi will be keen to get the Dutchman back on the pitch after missing the last few games with a hamstring issue.
Alessandro Bastoni (CB) – Blossomed into a talented defender over the last couple of seasons at Inter.
Matteo Darmian (RWB) – A two-way threat on the right hand side, with his attacking qualities proving crucial to Inter.
Arturo Vidal (CM) – The former Juventus midfielder could replace Nicolo Barella, who could do with a rest.
Marcelo Brozovic (CM) – The fulcrum of this Inter side, capable of receiving with his back to play and spreading the ball wide to the wing-backs.
Hakan Calhanoglu (CM) – Question marks when he was pinched from Milan as a free agent, but the Turkey international has hit the ground running across the city.
Ivan Perisic (LWB) – The Croatian has been moulded into a very effective wing-back at Inter, impressing in the midweek win over Shakhtar.
Edin Dzeko (ST) – Inzaghi may want a more physical focal point with Venezia likely to sit deep.
Lautaro Martinez (ST) – A goal last weekend against Napoli in a very influential performance.
