Torino vs Juventus: TV channel, live stream, team news & prediction
Juventus travel to Torino for the first Derby della Mole of the season in high spirits after their win over Chelsea in the Champions League.
I Bianconeri have been far from their best since Massimiliano Allegri returned to the dugout, but slowly but surely they are starting to show the old grit and determination that made them serial winners under the disciplined Italian.
Juve have won their last three games in all competitions, and in Federico Chiesa they have one of world football’s most dangerous wingers.
When is kick off? Saturday 2 October, 17:00 (BST)
Where is the match being played? Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino
TV channel/live stream? BT Sport ESPN (UK), Paramount+ (US)
Highlights? Serie A’s YouTube channel (Global)
Referee? Paolo Valeri
Torino are missing the suspended Koffi Djidji, while they are also likely to be without Cristian Ansaldi. The Argentine has a knee injury and could join a lengthy injury list that threatens to ruin the home side’s chances of success in this game.
Star striker Andrea Belotti is among those unavailable, joining Simone Zaza, Marko Pjaca and Dennis Praet with a watching brief.
Juventus are likely to make changes on Saturday, given the gap between playing Chelsea and this game is less than 72 hours.
Allegri has already said that Wojciech Szczesny and Giorgio Chiellini are the only guaranteed starters, but he knows that he can’t call upon Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata – both of whom are injured.
Arthur Melo and Kaio Jorge should return to the bench after injury problems of their own.
Torino (4-3-3): Milinkovic-Savic; Buongiorno, Bremer, Rodriguez; Singo, Pobega, Mandragora, Aina; Linetty, Brekalo; Sanabria
Juventus (4-4-2): Szczesny; Danilo, De Ligt, Chiellini, Alex Sandro; Cuadrado, Locatelli, Bentancur, Bernardeschi; Chiesa, Kean
Juventus are still a work in progress and there’s not going to be a quick fix for the problems Allegri has.
The squad needs a makeover, it must be built around Dybala and the midfield in particular needs re-energising. Hopefully, Manuel Locatelli can be key to that particular overhaul – he’s a supremely talented player and has the ability to dictate tempo and dominate play.
Here, it’s more likely that Juventus will surrender possession, and will instead look to exploit the pace of Chiesa and Moise Kean on the counter. A tight game awaits, but it’s one the visitors could edge after the week they’ve had.
Prediction: Torino 0-1 Juventus
