Man City predicted lineup vs PSG – Champions League
Man City travel to the Parc des Princes for a heavyweight Champions League clash with PSG on Tuesday, looking to take a firm grip of Group A.
Pep Guardiola’s side recorded a statement victory against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, significantly improving the mood around the club after the insipid 0-0 draw with Southampton at the Etihad a week prior.
City also ran out 6-3 winners against RB Leipzig in their Group A opener in the Champions League, which was a particularly good start to the campaign considering they must now come up against a PSG side who possess an enviable array of attacking talent.
The game has all the ingredients to be classic, and here’s how Guardiola could line up his side.
Ederson (GK) – The Brazilian’s peerless distribution could tip the scales in City’s favour.
Kyle Walker (RB) – His recovery pace against the explosiveness of Kylian Mbappe will be crucial.
Ruben Dias (CB) – Enjoyed a formidable debut season in England last year and has carried that form into the new campaign.
Aymeric Laporte (CB) – After spending long spells out of the team last season the Spaniard has grasped his opportunity in the absence of John Stones.
Joao Cancelo (LB) – The 27-year-old is integral to Guardiola’s tactical plan and performed excellently against Chelsea.
Rodri (DM) – A firm favourite of Guardiola’s, expect Rodri to start with Guardiola keen to dominate the ball and limit PSG’s touches.
Bernardo Silva (CM) – After speculation linking him with an exit from Man City this summer, the 27-year-old is enjoying an excellent campaign.
Kevin De Bruyne (CM) – The Belgian’s return from injury has been much welcomed by Guardiola and he invariably brings his best on Champions League nights.
Riyad Mahrez (RW) – The former Leicester City man scored twice against PSG last season to fire his side into the Champions League final.
Ferran Torres (ST) – The Spain international has filled the centre forward void well this season, and may come back in after two games on the sidelines.
Jack Grealish (LW) – Netted on his Champions League debut against RB and is beginning to show his best in a City shirt.
