The first north London derby of the season takes place on Sunday when Arsenal host Tottenham at the Emirates.

The Gunners have shown shoots of recovery after their disastrous start to the season, beating Norwich and Burnley in their last two Premier League outings. They are three points behind Spurs, who have been defeated 3-0 by both Crystal Palace and Chelsea in recent weeks after 1-0 victories in their first three games.

Neither side are in particularly groundbreaking form, though both did qualify for the fourth round of the Carabao Cup in midweek and the north London derby almost always delivers an enthralling game for fans and neutrals alike.

Here’s all you need to know ahead of one of the weekend’s biggest fixtures.

When is kick off? Sunday 26 September, 16:30 (BST)
Where is the match being played? Emirates Stadium
What TV channel is it on? Sky Sports Main Event/Sky Sports Premier League (UK), fuboTV (US)
Referee? Craig Pawson
VAR? Stuart Attwell

Arsenal have a slight injury worry over Kieran Tierney, but the Scotsman is expected to be fit and take his place at left back in Mikel Arteta’s side.

There will be changes from the side that beat Wimbledon 3-0. Emile Smith Rowe, Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka are expected to be the attacking three behind striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, meaning Nicolas Pepe would miss out.

Elsewhere, Granit Xhaka has returned from suspension and should replace Albert Sambi Lokonga to partner Thomas Partey in central midfield.

Nuno Espirito Santo has doubts over the fitness of wingers Lucas Moura, Ryan Sessegnon and Steven Bergwijn, so Giovani Lo Celso may be given the left wing spot.

It’ll be a throw-up at right back between Emerson Royal and Japhet Tanganga. The academy product has looked better than the recent signing from Barcelona, though he was sent off against Crystal Palace.

Tanguy Ndombele has started Spurs‚ last three games, scoring in the Carabao Cup at Wolves, but may drop to the bench so Oliver Skipp can return.

Arsenal: Ramsdale; Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel, Tierney; Partey, Xhaka, Saka, Odegaard, Smith Rowe; Aubameyang.

Tottenham: Lloris; Emerson, Romero, Dier, Reguilon; Hojbjerg, Skipp, Alli; Son, Kane, Lo Celso.

Of the 203 meetings between the two sides, Arsenal have won 83 while Tottenham have 66 victories, with 54 occasions ending in draws.

Draws have been the most frequent outcome in recent years, with five of the last 13 outings ending in stalemates. Arsenal beat Spurs 2-1 in this fixture last season, though Tottenham had won the previous two games before that.

The two sides also met in pre season, when Son Heung-min’s strike settled the contest.

This is always one of the toughest games to predict in a Premier League season. Form seems to go out of the window as both sides look to put on a show.

That being said, neither side have been particularly hot in either attack or defence so far. They’re both prone to mistakes and are as annoyingly unpredictable for each fan base to deal with.

So how can you back one side that loves to shoot itself in the foot over one that consistently throws away positions of strength? It’ll be an entertaining affair, one which Arsenal and Tottenham may share the spoils from.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham
