Stade de Reims vs PSG: TV channel, live stream, team news & prediction
Ligue 1 table toppers PSG travel to the north of France on Sunday evening to take on Stade de Reims.
The Parisians are in a circus of transfer speculation, and in the centre Real Madrid’s interest in Kylian Mbappé. Should he depart for Spain, PSG are interested in signing Richarlison or even Erling Haaland.
If things could not get anymore frenzied for PSG, Lionel Messi is expected to make his debut at the Stade Auguste Delaune on Sunday.
Stade de Reims will simply be looking to continue their recent form, which has seen three successive draws to open the season.
Here’s 90min’s preview of the game.
When is kick off? Sunday 29 August, 19:45 (BST)
Where is the match being played? Stade Auguste Delaune
What TV channel is it on? BT Sport 1 (UK), beIN Sports (US)
The home side will be without Tasos Donis and Fraser Hornby as they both have thigh injuries.
Aside from the two forwards, Óscar García has a full squad to pick from on Sunday evening.
Juan Bernat (torn ACL) and Layvin Kurzawa (calf) are injured and they will miss the game in the north of France.
Sergio Ramos will be absent over a calf injury, while Gianluigi Donnarumma and Neymar are still being rested after coming back from international duty this summer.
Reims: Rajkovic; Gravillon, Faes, Abdelhamid; Foket, Munetsi, Cassama, Konan; Chavalerin; Mbuku, Cafaro
PSG: Navas; Hakimi, Kimpembe, Kehrer, Diallo; Herrera, Verratti, Wijnaldum; Messi, Icardi, Di María
PSG hammered Reims on both occasions in Ligue 1 last season.
Their first encounter was in September 2020 and goals from Julian Draxler and Mauro Icardi gave the Parisians a 2-0 win, while they triumphed 4-0 in the return fixture.
Reims last tasted success over PSG in September 2019, on a night which saw Hassane Kamara and Boulaye Dia score in a 2-0 win at the Parc des Princes.
Sunday’s game should be a stroll for PSG, at least on paper. But they are up against a well disciplined and organised Reims team who are undefeated this season.
Despite whatever problems Reims can cause the Parisians, PSG will find a way to get into space and score. Once the flood gates open, a Messi-led masterclass is inevitable.
Expect a tight game to start but once the first goal is score, PSG are going to play football for fun.
Prediction: Stade de Reims 0-4 PSG
