An inform Bayern Munich will welcome Hertha Berlin to the Allianz Arena on Saturday evening.

After a sluggish start to their title defence, which saw them draw with Borussia Mönchengladbach on the opening day of the season and need a late strike from Serge Gnabry to beat FC Köln, the Bavarians have found form after lifting the DFL-Supercup and hammering Bremer 12-0 in the DFB-Pokal.

Hertha, meanwhile, will go to Munich winless, as they lost to FC Köln and Wolfsburg in the first two game weeks of the season. Pál Dárdai is under real pressure to deliver a result, as Hertha are currently rock bottom of the Bundesliga.

Here’s 90min’s preview of the game.

The Bavarians have just three injuries of note ahead of Saturday’s game at the Allianz Arena. Lucas Hernandez (knee) will miss the game, along with Benjamin Pavard (ankle) and Marc Roca (ankle)

Apart from that trio, Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann has a clean bill of health for the clash with Hertha Berlin.

Like Bayern , Hertha have three injuries to contend with going into Saturday’s clash in Bavaria.

Márton Dárdai and Krzysztof Piątek will miss the game due to ankle injuries, while goalkeeper Rune Jarstein is out due to lacking match fitness. Kevin-Prince Boateng is also a doubt due to a back issue.

Bayern: Neuer; Stanisic, Upamecano, Süle, Davies: Kimmich, Goretzka; Sane, Müller, Gnabry; Lewandowski.

As you’d expect, the head to head record between these two teams is overwhelmingly in favour of Bayern Munich. In fact, Pál Dardai’s has won just one of his ten Bundesliga fixtures against Bayern as Hertha coach.

His only taste of success was a 2-0 victory in the Olympic Stadium at the start of the 2018/19 season.

Last season Bayern needed an injury time penalty to beat Hertha early in the campaign, before they dug deep to win 1-0 in Berlin in spring thanks to a Kingsley Coman goal.

Bayern are obviously favourites for this game.

After a slow start to the season, they have now won three competitive games in a row – one of those was a 3-1 DFL-Supercup win over Borussia Dortmund.

If the cup success wasn’t the shot in the arm that Nagelsmann’s men needed, the Bavarians set a new record for goals in consecutive games among teams playing in Europe’s top five leagues this week.

Bayern have scored in their last 74 competitive matches and they last time they failed to get a goal, was on February 9th, when RB Leipzig held them to a 0-0 draw.

So expect goals this weekend – and expect Bayern to score pretty much all of them.

Prediction: Bayern Munich 4-0 Hertha Berlin
