Ed Woodward’s home attacked by masked protestors
Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward’s home was attacked by masked protestors on the same day a protest was held at the club’s training ground following the Super League debacle.
United were one of 12 clubs who originally committed to joining the breakaway league, though the backlash from the media and fans in particular saw the proposed event come crashing down.
Woodward faced a lot of said backlash for his part in the Super League saga, however, reports have since emerged claiming that the United chief was opposed to the idea and announced his resignation for the end of 2021 shortly before the Super League crumbled.

Despite that revelation, Sky Sports have now reported that the outgoing United executive vice-chairman’s home was targeted by angry protestors wearing masks shortly after a small amount of fans had gathered at the club’s Carrington training complex.
The report adds that while only 20 fans turned up at the club’s training ground, a number of others descended on Woodward’s home in Cheshire and proceeded to cause damage to the gates at the front of the drive before leaving.
Luckily none of Woodward’s family were home at the time of the attack and nobody was hurt during the protest, with police confirming they weren’t contacted with regards to the incident.

This isn’t the first time Woodward has had to deal with mindless idiots damaging his property, with the United chief’s home subjected to vandalism by around 20 to 30 ‚fans‘ donned in balaclavas little over a year ago.
The group targeted Woodward’s home in an attempt to vent their anger at the way the club was being ran before hurling fireworks, flares and smoke bombs at the residence.
Woodward has already announced his intention to stand down from his role at Old Trafford this summer, and by the sounds of it he’ll be glad to be out of the job given the abuse both him and his family have been forced to tolerate over the last few years.
