Ruben Loftus-Cheek names ex-Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri as most influential boss he has worked under
Ruben Loftus-Cheek has recently named the manager who has had the most influence on him.
Loftus-Cheek’s time at Chelsea
Ruben Loftus-Cheek has, of course, endured a rough couple of seasons, largely due to injury and a lack of regular football at Chelsea.
After returning from a loan spell from Crystal Palace in 2018, though, things did appear to be looking up for the midfielder.
Maurizio Sarri was at the helm at Stamford Bridge and the Italian was handing RLC a decent amount of minutes, especially in Europe.
However, towards the back end of 2018/19, Loftus-Cheek would suffer an injury that ruled him out for the remainder of that campaign and most of 2019/20.

Now, after playing one league game at the start of this season for Frank Lampard, RLC was shipped off on loan to Fulham.
Loftus-Cheek hasn’t exactly gone on to shine with Scott Parker’s side, but he is getting the minutes he needs to rebuild his career.
And now, in a recent interview, the Englishman has moved to name the most influential manager he has played under.
That man, according to Loftus-Cheek, is Maurizio Sarri:
“Sarri for sure. He was truthful with me. He told me if I want to play, I have to do this. I started to do what he asked – and I played. That gave me confidence.”
