Tottenham Hotspur striker Dominic Solanke has been named in Lee Carsley’s England squad for upcoming Nations League fixtures with Greece and Finland, a report has revealed.

The forward is set to be named as part of the Three Lions squad for the first time in seven years after enjoying an impressive start to the 2024/25 campaign.

An exceptional season on the south coast with Bournemouth saw Solanke net 21 goals in 42 appearances, earning a spot among the league’s top scorers with only Phil Foden, Alexander Isak, Cole Palmer and Erling Haaland finding the back of the net more times than the 27-year-old.

His success with the Cherries enabled Solanke to move to north London this summer, putting pen to paper with Tottenham until 2030 in a deal worth £65m.

The chance to play for one of the big six clubs has also helped Solanke secure his first England call-up in seven years. Lee Carsley is set to name his full squad for upcoming Nations League fixtures on Thursday afternoon, but The Athletic have revealed that the striker’s name will be included.

Solanke has enjoyed a strong start in the capital, scoring three goals in successive games for Spurs. He’s made six appearances in total so far for the Lilywhites, adding an assist in the Europa League to his CV.

If he features on the international stage under Carsley, he will make only his second senior England appearance, with his first coming in a friendly against Brazil in 2017.

Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers, Manchester United’s Harry Maguire and West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen are expected to miss out on places in the team.

The Three Lions are set to host Greece on Thursday 10 October before travelling to face Finland three days later.
