Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid plans revealed amid contract speculation

Carlo Ancelotti has not ruled out committing his future to Real Madrid beyond his current contract, a report has claimed.

Ancelotti had been tipped to depart last summer before signing a surprise extension, but the popular Italian continues to be linked with an exit from the Santiago Bernabeu in the near future.

Indeed, he is under contract until 2026 but it was recently claimed Madrid are already looking to land the signature of Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso next summer before any of their rivals snap the former midfielder up.

Ancelotti, however, has done his best to put rumours of a departure to bed, publicly insisting he continues to love his role as manager.

„I’m not thinking about my future whatsoever, I love this job,“ said Ancelotti before taking charge of his 300th Madrid game. „It is something special to be in this dugout, to do it 300 times is not quite a miracle, but it is almost a miracle.

„Sure, you can’t compare my tiredness with that of the players. There is pressure, responsibility, but I love it. At the moment I don’t see me having an expiry date, I’d love to stay here for many years to come.“

AS state Ancelotti is even open the idea of extending beyond 2026, having found what he feels is the perfect role.

Despite the ongoing talk about a departure, Ancelotti remains a beloved figure by both fans and club officials. President Florentino Perez sees the 65-year-old’s man-management style as a perfect fit for Madrid and he is in no rush to make a blockbuster change.

Most of the speculation around Madrid has revolved around Alonso or former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, with Los Blancos fearful of missing out on an elite manager to one of their rivals, but Ancelotti remains keen to continue as Madrid manager for the foreseeable future.
