The clubs Robert Lewandowski has scored the most goals against

Robert Lewandowski is one of the greatest strikers of his generation.

The Poland international boasts incredible scoring records for Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and his national side, and is feared all across Germany and in the Champions League.

Most teams hate coming up against the striker, but a few have been on the receiving end of his strikes more than others. Here are the teams Lewandowski can’t stop scoring against.

Let’s kick off with Lewandowski’s record against German minnows Ingolstadt.

He’s bagged four goals in as many games, all for Bayern Munich, with his side winning each clash.

Let’s head over to Poland’s Ekstraklasa in a time before Lewandowski was the serial goal-getter he is today.

Playing for Lech Poznan, Lewa bagged for goals in four league games against Ruch Chorzow, but failed to net in his one Polish Cup fixture.

Staying in Poland, two of Lewandowski’s strikes against Polonia Warsaw came in 1 Liga, the country’s second tier.

They also faced off again in the Ekstraklasa, Lewa scoring another couple.

Remember those two seasons where Bayern slapped Arsenal 5-1 on three separate occasions?

Lewandowski was never the prime architect of those wins but did score once in each fixture.

Lewa’s got a bit of work to do on this record. Four goals in 15 games against Borussia Monchengladbach hardly befits a man of his stature.

One of them did come as recently as this January, but c’mon Robert. It’s simply not good enough.

Lewandowski was unstoppable during the 2019/20, and Red Star Belgrade were just one team who were put to the sword.

He scored five goals against them in the group stages of the Champions League that season, including four in the 6-0 away win.

Another Champions League victim for Lewandowski.

In two group stage games Bayern racked up 5-0 and 2-0 victories, with the striker netting five in the two games. Like lambs to the slaughter.

A season before Bayern won Europe’s top club competition, they were given two thorough examinations by the 2018/19 surprise package Ajax.

Lewandowski scored twice in the 3-3 draw that season, but had previously netted three times in two games for Dortmund during 1-0 and 4-1 victories.

Five goals in six appearances against Olympiacos shows how clinical Lewandowski is.

He lost to the Greek giants once with Dortmund but has scored four goals in his last three appearances against them for Bayern.

Before his switch to the German giants, Lewa had no issue sticking it to Bayern with Dortmund.

He was on the losing side against his current employers five times out of 12 games, even scoring a hat trick in the 2012 DFB-Pokal final.

Lewa averaged a goal a game against Slask Wroclaw, including braces on two occasions.

Lewandowski never lost to Wisla Krakow in seven appearances, scoring against them in Ekstraklasa, Superpuchar Polski and Polish Cup.

Naturally because he plays in the Bundesliga and Real Madrid play in La Liga, Lewandowski has only ever faced Los Blancos in the Champions League.

He’s failed to score in five of the eight games he’s played against Real, but a mammoth four-goal haul came in the UCL semi finals during a 4-1 win for Dortmund.

It’s just the five games played against Paderborn for Lewandowski, but he’s scored in each one so far.

Bayern have won all five of those fixtures, perhaps unsurprisingly.

Nurnberg have never beaten a Lewandowski side, with the striker scoring seven goals in the ten games he’s played against them.

Five of his goals against them came for Dortmund, with Nurnberg’s relegations in recent years stopping him from adding too many more.

Seeing as RB Leipzig are only about three years old, Lewandowski hasn’t seen much of them. But what he has seen, he’s evidently taken a liking to.

He scored four goals in his first three games against Leipzig, also netting twice in Bayern’s 3-0 DFB-Pokal final success in 2019.

Lewa’s hit eight goals in 17 appearances against Stuttgart so far, with his best performance coming for Dortmund in 2013.

The Polish forward smacked in a hat trick during a 6-1 victory, also grabbing an assist.

Lewandowski’s goals against Bayer Leverkusen are split 60-40, with four coming in the Bundesliga and four in the DFB-Pokal.

Those include a brace in the 2019/20 DFB-Pokal final, which Bayern won 4-2.

Koln or Cologne, however you spell it, it makes no difference to Lewandowski.

His tally might be a touch heavier had the Billy Goats – yep, real nickname – not suffered relegation a few times in recent years. Classic selfish Koln.

Lewa’s final Dortmund goals came against Hertha Berlin, scoring twice during a 4-0 win away from home in 2014.

He was required to score four against Die Alte Dame in 2020 to secure a 4-3 for Bayern.

Hoffenheim haven’t been hit as hard as other teams by Lewandowski, though 13 goals in 22 games is still a more than decent record.

He’s managed two braces against Hoffenheim, with the rest coming in a steady stream.

Lewandowski has lost just once to Hannover in his career so far, that coming in a 2-1 defeat back in 2011.

He’s racked up 15 wins against the Lower Saxony side, scoring the same amount of goals.

Frankfurt were the victims when Lewandowski netted his 100th Bayern goal, with his second strike taking him to his century.

Lewandowski’s 50th Bayern goal came against Hamburg in January 2016, diverting Thomas Muller’s shot past goalie Rene Adler.

He’s rattled in 16 goals in 15 games, including a hat trick in a 6-0 win back in March 2018.

Another of Lewandowski’s favourite teams, the Pole has racked up 18 goals against Mainz, only ever being on the losing side in one of the 20 games he’s played against them.

He netted in both 2019/20 fixtures against Die Nullfunfer.

To date, Lewandowski has scored more goals against Freiburg for Dortmund than he has for Bayern. That included a run of eight goals in five goals between the 2011/12 and 2013/14 seasons.

His only loss against them so far came in a 2-1 defeat for Bayern in 2015.

He may have got his big Bundesliga break with Dortmund, but there’s no love lost whenever Bayern take them on in Der Klassiker.

Lewandowski scored in his first two games against BVB and Bayern’s domestic dominance has more than backed up his decision to swap sides.

It took Lewandowski a few cracks at Werder to get up and running, but once the first went in there was no stopping him.

He usually nets in braces against the Weserstadion side, though he did manage a hat trick in August 2016 during a 6-0 win.

Augsburg are like lambs to the slaughter whenever Lewandowski is in town. He’s scored in 12 of the 15 games he’s played against them, striking 19 times.

He has two trebles against the Bavarian outfit – one for Dortmund and one for Bayern.

With a couple of braces and a hat trick against Schalke, Lewandowski is regularly on the score sheet when Bayern play the Gelsenkirchen outfit.

His best performance came during the 2019/20 season, rattling in three during a straightforward 3-0 victory, while his first ever Bayern goal came against Schalke.

Wolfsburg must be absolutely sick of the sight of Lewandowski.

He’s rattled in 24 strikes against the one-time Bundesliga champions, including the famous five-strike blitz in nine minutes.

Lewandowski averages over a goal a game against Wolfsburg and scored his 250th Bundesliga goal against them.
