Jamaica vs Venezuela: Preview, predictions and team news
Jamaica and Venezuela clash on the final group stage matchday in Copa America 2024 action.
The Reggae Boyz have yet to come away with three points at the competition with a 1-0 defeat to Mexico and a 3-1 loss to Ecuador. Jamaica were the first team to be eliminated from the tournament after the defeat to Ecuador with zero points in last place in Group B, and they face an uphill battle if they wish to come away with a consolation win against the group leaders.
On the other hand, Venezuela have been flying thus far at Copa America. The team managed to pull of a 2-1 comeback victory over Ecuador in their opening match before holding on for a 1-0 win against Mexico thanks to Jose Salomon Rondo’s second-half penalty. As Venezuela have already punched their ticket to the next round of Copa America, we could see them take their foot off the gas just a little in order to conserve energy for the quarter-finals.
Here’s 90min’s guide to Jamaica vs Venezuela at Copa America 2024.

Even though Andre Blake was included in Jamaica’s Copa America squad, he’s yet to make an appearance at the tournament due to a knee injury. It’s unlikely Blake would now rush to return to the mix if he was fit given that Jamaica will not be participating past the group stage.
Jamaica predicted lineup vs Venezuela ( 3-4-2-1 ): Waite; Lowe, Latibeaudiere, Pinnock; Lembikisa, Lambert, Palmer, Leigh; Gray, Decordova-Reid; Antonio.
Venezuela don’t have any injury concerns in their squad, but the following four players are all on a yellow and could miss the quarter-finals if they are shown another yellow card vs Jamaica: Miguel Navarro, Nahuel Ferraresi, Darwin Machis and Cristian Casseres Jr.
Venezuela predicted lineup vs Jamaica ( 4-2-3-1 ): Romo; Aramburu, Ferraresi, Osorio, Navarro; Martinez, Casseres Jr.; Bello, Savarino, Soteldo; Rondon.
With Jamaica already out of the competition and Venezuela securing a place in the last eight, this one could really be a boring contest at Q2 Stadium. Nonetheless, Venezuela will look to keep their momentum going into the knockout stage with a narrow victory over the Reggae Boyz.
Prediction: Jamaica 0-1 Venezuela
