Feyenoord star sends message to Arsenal & Liverpool over transfer interest

Feyenoord goalkeeper Justin Bijlow has admitted he is open to joining a new club this summer, with Arsenal and Liverpool both chasing his signature.

It was reported earlier this month that Liverpool started chasing Bijlow well before their interest in manager Arne Slot, who handed the goalkeeper 93 appearances during their time together before taking his talents to Anfield.

Now, however, Arsenal are ready to rival Liverpool’s pursuit as they seek a replacement for Aaron Ramsdale, and Bijlow has left the door open to a move away from Feyenoord.

„Will I stay at Feyenoord? You never know, do you? That’s football,“ he told Voetbalzone. „You never know that.

„I’m ambitious, I’ve always said that. If the opportunity presents itself and a good club comes from abroad, I am open to it. I’ve always said that. As long as I am under contract with Feyenoord, that is never a punishment and I will give everything as long as I play there.“

Asked specifically about interest from Arsenal and Liverpool, Bijlow added: „Those are two very nice clubs. Of course it is always nice to be mentioned at big clubs. As I said, I’m ambitious. As long as I play for Feyenoord I will give everything for that and first I just want to focus on the Dutch team.“

Bijlow may end up moving to the Premier League this summer, 12 months after he was pursued by Manchester United.

The Red Devils explored a deal for Bijlow but ultimately struck a deal to sign Andre Onana from Inter instead.

„That’s also football, isn’t it?“ Bijlow reflected. „You never know when something will or won’t happen. They made the choice for someone else at the time, but I’m happy I got to spend another season playing for Feyenoord.“
