Man Utd set Marcus Rashford price tag – report
Manchester United will only consider offers worth £70m or more for forward Marcus Rashford during the summer transfer window, a report has revealed.
Rashford has been criticised for a drop-off in form in 2023/24 having lashed in 30 goals in all competitions last season, while off-field incidents have also caused concern around Old Trafford.
The Red Devils are prepping for what could be a turbulent summer, with Ineos and Sir Jim Ratcliffe willing to listen to reasonable offers for almost all of the current squad, including Rashford.
While he is not deemed unsellable, ESPN claim it would take bids north of £70m for United to consider ditching Rashford. However, they do not at present expect such an offer to arrive and are not actively looking to get rid of the England international.
Rashford has managed eight goals in all competitions this term and has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain in the past. The Ligue 1 champions have previously eyed Rashford as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who is widely expected to join Real Madrid when his contract at Parc des Princes expires, but he isn’t a primary target this summer.
It’s also been reported Man Utd would only consider selling the 26-year-old if he tells the club he wants a new challenge and a ’substantial‘ bid arrives.
The reports of a potential fire sale were also put to club captain Bruno Fernandes, who admitted he will mull his future over during the summer, though he also claimed there is a mutual agreement from both sides to continue together going forward.
The Portugal international recently received backing from former teammate Juan Mata, who claimed Man Utd need to back him and build their culture with the ex-Sporting CP star at their core.
