Freiburg vs Bayern Munich – Bundesliga: TV channel, team news, lineups and prediction
Bayern Munich are aiming to put pressure on Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen this Friday when they travel to Freiburg.
The German champions managed to put three consecutive defeats behind them last time out, beating RB Leipzig 2-1 thanks to a Harry Kane brace. The result moved them back to within eight points of the relentless Leverkusen, with Thomas Tuchel’s side able to cut that gap to just five with victory at Europa-Park Stadion on Friday.
Bayern won the reverse fixture 3-0 earlier in the season at the Allianz Arena and should have more than enough in the tank to dispatch of ninth-placed Freiburg. However, the Bavarians have plenty of injuries at present, with confidence not exactly at an all-time high heading to Baden-Wurttemberg.
Here’s your guide to Bayern’s trip to Freiburg in the Bundesliga.

Bayern are not the only side in the Bundesliga currently struggling with fitness concerns, with Friday’s opponents Freiburg also without some key personnel.
One of those absent is right-back Lukas Kubler, who is currently out with a hip injury. Philipp Lienhart is also missing in the backline, while Christian Streich is without Yannik Keitel, Kenneth Schmidt, Max Rosenfelder and Daniel-Kofi Kyereh.
Freiburg predicted lineup vs Bayern Munich (4-4-2): Atubolu; Sildillia, Ginter, Gulde, Gunter; Doan, Eggestein, Rohl, Grifo; Sallai, Holer.
Bayern have struggled with injuries of late, especially across their backline, but centre-back Matthijs de Ligt will be absent for a slightly different reason having accumulated too many yellow cards.
He will serve his one-match suspension against Freiburg, with fellow defenders Sacha Boey, Noussair Mazraoui, Bouna Sarr and Tarek Buchmann also sidelined.
Youngster Noel Aseko-Nkili is also missing with an ankle injury, while Kingsley Coman is set for another month or so on the treatment table due to a knee problem.
However, the good news for Tuchel is that Alphonso Davies and Serge Gnabry could find their way back in the starting lineup after returning to team training.
Bayern Munich predicted lineup vs Freiburg (4-2-3-1): Neuer; Kimmich, Upamecano, Kim, Guerreiro; Pavlovic, Goretzka; Sane, Muller, Musiala; Kane.
It’s tough to know what to expect from Bayern at present as the German giants are still miles off their best. Victory over RB Leipzig could help turn a corner after three straight defeats, with Freiburg attractive opposition based on recent form.
Streich’s side haven’t won in five Bundesliga matches, accumulating four defeats and a draw. Freiburg also haven’t beaten Bayern on home soil since 2015, enduring some pretty sizeable losses against the Bavarians in recent meetings.
