Man Utd confirm departure of Erik ten Hag’s first-team coach to MLS
Manchester United have confirmed first-team coach Eric Ramsay has left the club to become the head coach of MLS side Minnesota United.
Ramsay, who only recently turned 32 and is regarded as one of football’s best coaching prospects, has become the youngest manager in MLS history after agreeing to take the job at Allianz Field.
Ten Hag’s coaching team at Man Utd has now been whittled down to assistants Steve McClaren and Mitchell van der Gaag, with support from first-team coaches Darren Fletcher and Benni McCarthy.
„Manchester United can confirm that first-team coach Eric Ramsay will depart the club to join Major League Soccer team Minnesota United as head coach,“ a club statement read.
„Eric, who will remain in his current role until after our game against Manchester City on Sunday, has been part of our first-team coaching group since joining from Chelsea in 2021.

Speaking to Minnesota’s club channels, Ramsay said: „I’m incredibly excited to be joining a club with such a strong football culture, a fanatic fan-base and a brilliant infrastructure.
„I’ve spoken to a lot of the club’s staff throughout the process and you can’t help but feel everyone’s passion for moving the club forward. There is a really exciting pathway for the future of the club and I’m looking forward to playing my role in realizing that vision. I thank the club for putting its faith in me and I hope it’s the start of another successful period for everyone connected with Minnesota United.“
