West Ham agree fee to sign Jesse Lingard on loan
West Ham have reached an agreement with Manchester United over a potential loan deal for Jesse Lingard.
The midfielder has been deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer open to discussing a temporary move away from the club.
90min exclusively revealed recently that Lingard was growing frustrated at the lack of movement from United in terms of striking up a deal with the Hammers.
However, Sky Sports now report that a deal has been agreed between the two sides which will see the 28-year-old move to the London Stadium until the end of the season.
A loan fee of £1.5m has been agreed while West Ham will pay Lingard’s full wages for the duration of the move. The England international is set to undertake a medical in Manchester ahead of the move, while the club are hoping to rubber stamp the switch in time for him to make his Hammers debut at home to Liverpool this Sunday.
Lingard has struggled to make an impression on the United first team this season and is yet to play a single minute of Premier League football this campaign – with four appearances as an unnamed substitute the closest he has come to featuring in the league.
His only game time this season has come in the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup, with his three appearances resulting in just 179 minutes of first-team football.
Moyes has previously worked with Lingard during his time as United manager in 2013/14, though the midfielder spent the majority of Moyes‘ tenure out on loan at Championship side Birmingham City.
Lingard has made 210 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils, scoring 33 goals and picking up numerous winner’s medals following triumphs in the FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Community Shield and the Europa League.
