Tottenham vs Brentford – Premier League: TV channel, team news, lineups and prediction
Tottenham will have to put their disappointing FA Cup exit behind them as they prepare for Brentford’s visit on Wednesday night.
Manchester City kept Ange Postecoglou’s side at arm’s length on Friday night and scored their first-ever goal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium late on to progress into the fifth round.
The defeat will likely ensure another trophy-less season for the Lilywhites unless they put together a quite remarkable run in the Premier League. Spurs are fifth and eight points behind leaders Liverpool.
Brentford recorded a mammoth 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest last time out having endured a lengthy winless run. The Bees are still without multiple first-teamers for various reasons, but the return of Ivan Toney has undoubtedly emboldened Thomas Frank’s side. Brentford’s win over Forest saw them climb up to 14th in the table.
Here’s 90min’s preview of Tottenham’s upcoming Premier League clash.

James Maddison made a cameo appearance off the bench on Friday night and could be in contention to start on Wednesday night. Giovani Lo Celso could also return after recovering from a muscle strain.
Alejo Veliz and Alfie Whiteman are peripheral squad members sidelined.
The hosts are still without Pape Matar Sarr, Yves Bissouma, and Son Heung-min due to their international commitments.
Tottenham predicted lineup vs Brentford (4-3-3): Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Maddison; Kulusevski, Richarlison, Werner.
Toney is back in action following an eight-month suspension. The English striker will once again lead the line on Wednesday, although he won’t have Bryan Mbeumo (injured) or Yoane Wissa (AFCON) alongside him.
Saman Ghoddos and Frank Onyeka are also away on international duty.
Kevin Schade, Christian Norgaard, and Aaron Hickey are all injury doubts, while Rico Henry is out for the rest of the season.
Brentford predicted lineup vs Tottenham (3-5-2): Flekken; Collins, Pinnock, Mee; Roerslev, Damsgaard, Janelt, Jensen, Lewis-Potter; Maupay, Toney.
There was an anti-climactic sense regarding Tottenham’s FA Cup exit on Friday, with City comfortably superior without being outstanding.
Spurs have had an issue with their front three as a collective in Son’s absence, but the return of Maddison will smooth over any problems. The playmaker’s inclusion should see Dejan Kulusevski start wide right and add a sense of control to their play in the final third.
The hosts will have to be patient against a stubborn Brentford side who now boast a greater threat going the other way with Toney back involved. However, Spurs are well-equipped to tame the Bees‘ sting, and they should return to winning ways.
