Chelsea vs Brighton – Premier League: TV channel, team news, lineups and prediction

Business

Premier League action resumes his weekend and there is a very intriguing clash between Chelsea and Brighton & Hove Albion for fans to look forward to.

Chelsea simply cannot find any consistency this season under Mauricio Pochettino and it is impossible to know what’s coming next. Brighton, meanwhile, are not winning as frequently as Roberto De Zerbi might like, and there is no clear favourite at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

The Seagulls will be coming into this one after another Europa League clash which means Chelsea will be the fresher of the two sides, but with plenty of injuries to deal with, that may not help Pochettino too much.

Here is all that you need to know about Chelsea vs Brighton in the Premier League this weekend.

Chelsea’s injury list is something to behold right now. Ben Chilwell, Marco Bettinelli, and Wesley Fofana are all out injured, while Carney Chukwuemeka, Malo Gusto and Trevoh Chalobah are serious doubts for this clash.

On top of that, both Reece James and Marc Cucurella are suspended against Brighton so Pochettino is going to have to look elsewhere for his full-backs.

However, the Chelsea boss did tease that Christopher Nkunku and Romeo Lavia could make the matchday squad after stepping up their recoveries from injury.

Chelsea predicted lineup vs Brighton (4-2-3-1): Sanchez; Disasi, Silva, Badiashile, Colwill; Caicedo, Fernandez; Palmer, Gallagher, Sterling; Jackson.

Brighton’s European exploits could impact the freshness of the squad, but even without that, they are in poor shape. Pervis Estupinan, James Milner, Danny Welbeck and Adam Webster are all doubts, while Ansu Fati, Julio Enciso, Solly March and Tariq Lamptey are longer-term absentees.

On top of all that, Mahmoud Dahoud and Lewis Dunk are both suspended.

Brighton predicted lineup vs Chelsea (4-2-3-1): Verbruggen; Veltman, Van Hecke, Igor, Hinshelwood; Gross, Gilmour; Adingra, Lallana, Pedro; Ferguson.

This really is two wounded teams coming up against one another. Chelsea are low on both players and confidence after the 4-1 loss against Newcastle last weekend, while Brighton had to produce a remarkable effort to beat Nottingham Forest 3-2 with 10 players before edging out a 1-0 victory at AEK Athens.

It is hard to picture a vintage performance from either of these sides – they just need to try and take their chances as they come. A draw seems the most plausible outcome, a result both coaches would take as long as it doesn’t come with further injuries.

Prediction: Chelsea 1-1 Brighton
