PSG predicted lineup vs Auxerre – Ligue 1

Business

Paris Saint-Germain can move one step closer to winning the Ligue 1 title, and potentially even seal the deal, when they travel to face a struggling Auxerre side on Sunday.

Second-placed Lens play a few hours earlier against Lorient and anything less than a victory will open the door for PSG, who can all but wrap up the title with a win of their own anyway as they currently sit six points clear with three games to go.

Here’s how Christophe Galtier could set up to get the job done.

GK: Gianluigi Donnarumma – Donnarumma is one clean sheet behind Brice Samba and Yehvann Diouf and faces an uphill battle if he is to retain his Goalkeeper of the Year award.

CB: Danilo Pereira – Almost exclusively a centre-back these days, Pereira will need to keep it up until Milan Skriniar joins in the summer.

CB: Marquinhos – Fresh off signing a new contract, Marquinhos should be feeling good.

CB: Sergio Ramos – 37-year-old Ramos has firmly shaken off his fitness struggles to prove his pedigree this season.

RM: Warren Zaire-Emery – Achraf Hakimi is suspended and Nordi Mukiele is injured, so wonderkid midfielder Zaire-Emery is likely to get the nod out wide.

CM: Fabian Ruiz – You get the feeling that Ruiz could be fighting for his future after an unconvincing season.

CM: Vitinha – Marco Verratti may not be fully fit because of a knee injury, leaving Vitinha to step into central midfield from the start.

LM: Juan Bernat – With Nuno Mendes out injured, Bernat is the natural call.

RW: Lionel Messi – Messi’s time in France is seemingly coming to an end. He still needs one assist if he is to make it to 20 in all competitions this year.

ST: Hugo Ekitike – Young Ekitike has had a slow start to life at PSG but caught the eye last time out with an assist.

LW: Kylian Mbappe – Mbappe cannot yet relax in the top scorer race, with Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette heading into the weekend just one goal behind.
